Master keys

anyone got any codes or templates on making master keys for silca LW4 (5 pin) LW5 (6pin) CB34R and TE4 and 4R. or any other australian barrels?

or even a way to find out buy locking at the locks would be nice.

i dont think that word means what you think it does. i suggest you look up master keying, a master key wont open all locks forever...only certain ones that are master keyed.

Not to long ago I encountered a bloke behind a key counter running a key machine who was under the impression that key blanks were master keys... undoubtedly the greatest mind of our time.

I have to assume you are talking about bump keys rather than master keys, because for a master key to work on a standard pin tumbler lock it would have to be a certain key in a master keyed system. That's what makes it a "master" key otherwise it's appearance is not any different. If there was one key for each brand that would be a serious lack of security and a joke of a lock.

I really am curious as to why you want keys for 5 different locks + any other Australian locks that come to mind. 1st you bust off tools in a lock at work, then you have a picture of a mystery lock that's obviously locking down something (Abloy disc lock), and now you want keys and codes to locks that you don't own or tips for cutting keys based on a locks outward appearance. Should I really have to say anything about this? Cut out the crap.

um wtf are you talking about? i was talking about master keys but i didn't understand them fully so i know now that master keys only open lock made with the same master pin. And i found and interesting lock i wanted to know more about? is that a crime?

I tend to agree. It seems dubious from the op that there might be something more to this poster. The request seems quite unusual and the delivery of the questions worries me somewhat.

You could of course easily allay the concerns of those above by simply saying what you are doing!
I've been picking locks for years without the need for "master" keys, in fact I would find "master" keys useless, they don't make for good picks

If the locks are Kwikset, then the master key is a banana.

Okay....it seems that most have already answered your question about what is master keying...but you specifically ask about LW4 or LW5 being for Lockwood locks. These are not factory masterkeyed...so you cant just create one to work them all.

CB34R is designed for Astra locks. Similar rules apply.

TE4 and TE4R are for Gainsborough locks and similar rules apply.

WC2 are for Whitco locks and similar rules apply.

SC1 are for Boyd locks (southern hemisphere version of Schlage) and similar rules apply

But when you start talking about L&F locks...like LF4 or LF34 etc....then these locks do have factory master keys.

Or Hafele or LAS etc. (but these arent Australian)
