Where do i get these lock picks?

Postby gr00ve » 9 Oct 2008 19:52

i see a lot of people on youtube/lp101 with pick sets that have these great handles. looks like wavy metal on each side of the handle. where do you get a set like this? i've seen the SouthOrd MXPS series with the "rivetless" steel handles. i might just get those but, out of curiosity where do you find the ones mentioned above?

Annoying just because it's a small operation, they don't have big shopping cart apps like other vendors. For what it's worth though, I've ordered from LPT before and have been satisfied, so don't let it put you off.

These guys do really good business. They are by far the fastest I've ever ordered from and are respectful and personable with their customers. Don't let their homepage throw you off.

actually i was just searching their site and the shipping charges are ridiculous? i wanted to get 4 picks with the ripply handes 3.75 a piece ok, came to $15 total, ok, shipping is like 12 something?

anyone with experience on this site, do they ever refund some of the shipping cost like they say? does it really cost this much to ship?

Their shopping cart is a bit odd, it considers each item in the cart as weighing something like a pound and calculates shipping according to that weight. When they pull and ship your order, they recalculate shipping costs according to the actual weight, and they use UPS for shipping. When you submit the order, there is a place where you can write them a note if you have any questions about it.

I've ordered from them a few times and every time I've had a bit of sticker shock when I see the shipping charges on the checkout page, but I have never had any complaints about what they ended up charging me for shipping once all was said and done. I think the most I ever paid for shipping was around $30 but that was for an order of several hundred picks that I needed shipped by second day air.

Well, don't know your situation, but if you have it sent to a P.O. box they will give you a refund on the charge since they won't send it by UPS (standard shipping rate). This is where I've had mine sent and every time I get a message informing me when they do this. The price did look pretty stepp though if I remember when I first saw it.

My experience with this site and its representative 'buzzy' is his lp101 handle was that they have a conman who lies representing them. The site played games with me while trying to get permission to use the bogota rake design which is mine. Finally in exasperation I told them that they could use it, they had allready taken it. but were unwilling to pay for it. I asked them to send just one full set of thier picks to a member, Dmux, who was serving in Iraq at the time, and Buzzzy agreed to do that. He didn't, I kept in touch with Dmux for his entire tour and he never recieved them. They have dealt with me in utter bad faith. Some moderators on this site do not want me saying that about them, so this post may become deleted, as others once were.

Sorry to hear this. It's very obvious when you see their Euro Wave jiggler where this came from if you have some experience. I've had good luck with them in my orders, but this type of business is b******t. Has any other businesses attempted to duplicate the bogota or is this the only one?
