Brinks High security brass lock

Postby see_doubleyou » 24 Oct 2008 0:42

So i've bought my first security pinned lock, and am currently trying to pick it. I can get what i'm pretty sure is a false set by lifting the second pin to the shear line. My question is this: when i pick each of the spool pins, should the lock go back into false set, or do I need to do something to put it back into a false set?

With spools: It should either go back into a false set or the lock should open.

I am pretty sure almost all the pins in that lock are security pins

I am a little confused on what you are asking here by putting it back into a false set. However, if every time you pick the the second pin you get the false set, it usually will mean that it is a different pin that is being false set using a spool pin. In other words, after you pick pin #2 ,now it's the third, fourth or fifth pin has been false set and you need to find out which one by feeling if any of those pins tries to spin the plug back when you lift it up. And as mentioned, you may have to do this a couple of times depending on the number spool pins.

I find that the the security pins in the bigger silver brinks locks are easier to feel out and pick
