trouble with the wrench

trouble with the wrench

So today i was playing around with your standard kwikset door lock i have picked it sevral times but i need help with something. every time i pick it i rotate it {--(this way) and it does not open.it may be my tension wrench but if no one can answer this i could post a video on you tube.

What type of locking mechanism is it? And are you saying that you can pick it <- way but not open it, or that you cannot pick it <- way?

If the latter, the binding order is reversed when you switch tension direction. In some cases this makes the lock harder/easier to pick.
