+1 Steve

Boombaye, in an effort to answer your question, aside from what Steve said the "best" books out there to get don't exist. If it's know-how you seek, being a part of this website is the first step, the next step is picking a specific section within the forums and go ALL THE WAY back to the begining page in that section and start reading all the posts. It'll take you a while but I can almost guarantee you when you get current you're more likely to know more than what most of the books on the market are going to tell you.

I agree with the post that LSS is by far THE best book(s) I have ever read on locks. I have a copy and it is an amazing work. It is an expensive book, so personally I recommend it if you are very serious about learning about locks. The books cover everything. Lockpicking is only a chapter. If you are starting out, however, and want a book to refer to for advice on basic locks and lockpicking, I recommend the Visual Guide to Lockpicking on the link below. Granted, this site probably has more info than you'll need, but if you would like a book to help you along I recommend this one. I got into lockpicking before I knew about Lockpicking 101 and spent more money than I care to think about on lockpicking books/material. Out of the books I bought that one sticks out as a good one.

There are indeed 3 versions. To quote...

LSS+ is available in three different security levels: PUBLIC, LOCKSMITH, and GOVERNMENT. and integrates two books that were written over one hundred and fifty years ago about locks and safes.

So at what point did you specifically ask for an advanced book?
