LP101 tutorials

Postby talbuz » 5 Jan 2009 17:45

A forum question....Im relatively new here and I really like a couple of picture tutorials that I have come across in these pages. They are great for learning, better than any of the books out there IMO. From snippets in threads, I gather there are several other tutorials, but I cannot find them with this search engine. Is there some specific part of the forum where all these tutorials are gathered together, or is it just a matter of going through the pages to find them?

I learned how to pick locks from searching through the forums. I would recommend reading the stickies, and read random posts, even if they don't sound interesting (You never know when that information will come in handy). If there is one specific thing you are looking for, then try to search it. If you cant find it, then make a new post to ask for help with it.

Hope this helps,
Matt

to add on to what (s)he^^^ said: a few tuts are in the pick fu section, and every tut on this site is a sticky. if your looking for a spicific tutorial than just ask and someone will point you in the right direction, but if your looking for just general info, then lurking proboblly is your best bet. :D

I have done what Snosnipe suggested, and tried to scan every thread under a topic of interest. I found innumberable posts within relatively common thread topics, and so I read them all. That's probably more extreme than what was suggested, or even necessary.

Satan is right about many tutorials on technique being in pickfu, and most tutorials are stickies. But, some haven't got recognition or lack completion. They still have good info, but you'll have to search for them. They are usually under popular topic searches. No photos.

If you are looking for a more productive search, then use google and limit your search field to this site, then try typing the keywords into google's search engine to have it scope 'em for you.

Don't be afraid to ask questions, but search first like you have been doing. Many times you can stumble on reference material you anticipate.

The threads in each section that look like splats with ! in them that don't move from the top of the page to mix in with the other posts are sticky threads. Regular threads are marked with what looks like a sheet from a notepad.

 Double post.

There is a key at the bottom of the page with all the different symbols threads can be assigned.
