Removing ICs

Postby PoP Lock PoP Bottles » 20 Jan 2009 7:46

In order to remove an IC the lock has to be open - I know that much, but from there I know nothing. I have several IC locks and am wanting to findout what pins they have on the inside. How do I remove the core and put it back in?

Without mentioning the brand of locks I can only say that most have a control key that either uses a separate shear line to control a lug that locks the cylinder into the boltworks, or a key that controls a 7th pin, that holds the lock together.

If these really are IC locks, you can remove the core with the lock locked or unlocked.

With an IC core, one key opens the lock. A different key retracts a locking tab into the lock cylinder so the cylinder just slides out of the lock.
