Cheap locks for picking practice

Postby rogerbp » 30 Jan 2009 0:59

I just finished an online course...maybe you have heard of ICS.Anyway,I graduated with a 99 and learned a lot of general knowledge but it is very expensive to buy locks to practice my picking skills. I spent $300 on a practise set and picks..probably got ripped off.. but I have gone through those and am looking for more locks to pick.I was wondering if there is anywhere to buy cheap locks to work on.I was reading one posting wear the person wanted to practice and was told to look in surplus hardware stores.I tried to find something over the internet but I couldn't.Is there any specific hardware store that sells used locks cheap?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Roger

See if there's a Habitat ReStore (as in Habitat for Humanity) in your area. They usually have plenty of used cylinders for cheap.

I actually asked a local glass and lock shop if I could scrounge around in their scrap metal pile and a little in their metal waste container. Found all kinds of goodies.
