Inverted Tweezers?

Postby Da'Jobat » 3 Feb 2009 14:37

Hi, i have seen inverted tweezers in several pick kits and I just wondered what they were for. Are they used as tension wrenches or are they for removing broken keys?
Thanks for your time

I assume you mean an adjustable tension wrench for picking double sided locks.

I mean tools like the ones at the top of the second picture on this page http://www.ukbumpkeys.com/so22.html, they are called inverted tweezers there and I just wondered what they are for. If what you said is right, then thanks =]

That's an adjustable tension wrench for picking double sided locks. You slide the washer back to that it can spring open, insert the tabs into each end of the keyway, and use it like a normal tension wrench. It leaves the middle open for picking either side of the lock without having to remove the tension wrench to adjust.

Also used in automotive not just for double sided, but also because the 2 prongs hold the shutter open evenly
