Another lock question

I was looking at deadbolts for our stockroom today.

I was wondering if I can replace the cylinder in this

with a Primus one at a later date.

Do deadbolts take KIK cylinders?

Our Primus expert is Zeke79 but I believe a Primus cylinder will work in that lock fine.

Yes primus will fit and operate well in the B series deadbolts. Personally for what they are asking for the standard C keyway version you might try looking for the BC160P EV model. I picked up a half dozen or so from Hoffmans not too long ago and if I remember right they were $24 and change but for that little bit extra they come with an everest cylinder which will give you a bit better key control as you are not going to walk into a Wal Mart and get it duplicated (atleast not around here). They are in C123 keyway though I wish I could find them at the same price in C145 keyway as it is more of a rarity around here so the locksmiths around here who will dup an everest key do not have C145 blanks laying around. I guess it depends on how all of your other stuff is keyed. If it is on a C blank then you likely don't want to carry an extra key around just for the store room.

Just an FYI, if your store is on a C keyway you can upgrade the B series deadbolt for an old standard primus cylinder as the old primus keys can interchange and work with standard C keyway (SC1, SC4, etc) so it is very flexible and allows you to save some bucks for instance you could have a dozen or so keyed locks in C keyway but only wanted to upgrade the exterior doors and store room you could put them on primus and the primus keys (as long as everything is keyed correctly) will operate the primus locks on the exterior doors, the store room, and still fit the keyway of all your old C keyway locks.

Now if you upgrade to the new Everest Primus then you cannot use the everest primus keys in the cheap standard C keyway locks and knock offs. You have to upgrade all of your standard C keyway locks to everest as the everest primus keys will operate both the Everest Primus and the everest.

Sorry for the long winded response to a simple question. If you have other questions just drop me a pm if you need.

We use CE keyway locks, mostly in Classic(non primus) but I'd like be able to use primus at a later point.

Does anyone know an online store that sells any Schlage KIK cylinders in the CE keyway?
