I'm new here and I want to put down an old (probibly untrue) belief,
can you really pick a lock with a paper clip?

Hi there - I just used that handy search button that you see near the top of the page inbetween the "rules" and the "groups" buttons. I searched on paperclip and came up with the following interesting threads:

viewtopic.php?t=4313&highlight=paperclip

viewtopic.php?t=2580&highlight=paperclip

viewtopic.php?t=4239&highlight=paperclip

I hope these links will aid you in your quest for information - I call it a quest because it's obviously not a "Search".. hang on - I just looked at dictionary.com: "# The act or an instance of seeking or pursuing something; a search."

ok, so it's not even a quest... uhmmmm.. seek and ye shall find....

Oh look! it's 2016!

Got some bad news for you eggshell.

Not only is it true, but the more you know about the lock, the easier it is to open it with improvised tools. Including the lowly paper clip.

Now, just as a cavaet to this, almost all lock openings require TWO tools, a tensioner and a pick. So, yes you can, but you need two paperclips.

Hope that helps.

Yes, and it can be dont with a GUN without damage too... Well without any damage that can be seen without the lock been taken apart...
