I recently purchased a Dudley High-Security Series lock for extra safety, but then forgot the code. I cant pick it without knowing the code because of the barrier thing that it has, so I need to figure out the code. Is there any way to do this?

I would say either get another one and make a "cut-away" out of it to practice manipulation (if its susceptible to it ) or grab a skilsaw and get to cutting.

Dudley, owned by Master Lock. I believe How It's Made had a thing on Dudleyr locks, so they must be made in Canada.

There is a method to open padlocks by manipulation. there's even a book out called opening combination padlocks
no tools no problem by Carl Black.
it has tables with possible combination's for different wheels. and how to work through the tables to find the combination's on padlocks.
I have the book here, great read. great method to apply to open padlocks without force, when they can't be shimmed.

Worst case scenario is you go through 40-70k combinations, or you know just cut through it like anybody else would. I understand the economy's rough but those locks go for only about 5$.....

Go to your local gym, look in the lost and found. There's usually 2-3 dozen locks, most of which are dudleys. Get some to experiment on.

I cut away at my first one to practice on. It does take quite a bit of skill to master this without seeing, I had to bend the shim in a bit of a different way to find something that worked best for me. In all honesty, its hardly worth the effort unless you're willing to put in the hours.

Never seen a Dudley before, but a previous reply said they were made by Master. With my Genericode program at my shop I can type in the S/N on the back of a Master combo padlock and the program will give me the combo. Maybe worth a shot.

I haven't seen a dudley padlock, but there once were a number of threads on them here, try the search function use Dudley for the search term.

I do remember that these do not manipulate as easily as the common master lock. in fact they present a real challenge Im told.

DB once promised to send me one, but it hasn't arrived yet, its been a few years. Perhaps it will come with a '05 postmark some day.
