1534D combination lock

Postby oblique465 » 18 Mar 2009 16:02

i have a master combonation lock that looks 100 percent exactly like the 1534 D resettable model with letters and numbers, except this one i have only has numbers on it... this is the only type of combo lock i have that im not able to get into without knowing the combo... i tryed the method where you pull the shackle like your going to open it and turn the numbers till you get a click but i was not having any success... does this method work for this lock? or is there some other method any of you know, any help would be appreciated thank you

Yes that method works on this lock, but you aren't necessarily looking for a "click". What you are looking for is the number that feels different than all of the others... sometimes on cheap locks that is a very noticeable click, but on other locks it might be better described as a "looseness" on the correct number. Good luck.

thanks for the help mate...im trying the best i can... man this is a tough one... i guess i need more practice because i stil havent been able to get it, i have several different combo locks all of which i can open except this one... but i am determined to prove that any lock is openable, so please, if anyone has any other tips to help it would be much appreciated... by the way, do you think a stethoscope or something would somehow help me to hear something inside the lock that would tell me if its the right number? just a thought...

I would expect a bit of a space to appear. Are you familiar with that technique?

Um actually no im not quite sure what you mean by that...at all... honestly, I admit that i an amatuer lock opener...a beginner... however... im very determined to become better at it, i find it to be a very interesting hobby of mine, even though im not so good at it, i would hope to become a locksmith someday...

But... if you wouldnt mind explaining to me what you mean by these "spaces" i would read your words very carefully and absorb any knowledge you can give me, and would appreciate it more than you can know... or any other techniques you can think of to help me figure out a way to get this lock open without using the combonation...i had my bro set a secret combo on it for me so i could practice and so far he has been bustin my chops big time saying its impossible and that i could never get it open ... but i plan to prove him wrong

To the OP:

PM me with more information, and photos proving you own this lock. I was just made aware what type of lock this actually is...

Also, there cannot be that many combos, brute force it.. (try every one..)
