Forgive me if this is explained somewhere, but I have been unable to find it despite extensive searching. I remember reading somewhere that when re-keying a lock, that 2 pins directly next to each other must be within 7 or 8 depths of each other. So, for instance, a pin at a depth of 0 could not be next to a pin at the depth of 9. I remember hearing this somewhere, but after searching for it again I wasn't able to find an answer for verification. Could someone with more knowledge on the matter clear this up for me? Your help is much appreciated.
