I am way new to this I started out picking a few padlocks noticed the larger ones are easier to pick for me out of the ones i have

what tools would you all recommend me add to my collection

i have a pick gun by brockage
i bunch of bump keys with the brockage hammers (read about lock bumping and thought it would be cool to try out realize picking the lock is much more fun)

What other tools would you guys recommend i know a spinner tool I think will be in need

would you guys recommend buying top notch picks like government steel if your going to buy a good lock picking set??

thanks to all who reply

Get a cheap set to start with. Don't spend a lot on picks until you are sure what you want.

I have a cheapo 10 piece set that I started with and they are great. I still use them.

Well if you want better quality tools then you have
to spend more money,it look like you don't want to go
with generic tools,in the long run this better quality tools
will last you longer than the cheap generic i been there
and now i got better quality tools after going through
many generic ones and home made too
This is of the tools you should check and see
if this will be better for you

Do what everyone else does - buy locks to practice on. You could probably find some entertaining mechanisms on ebay, the auto wreckers, a surplus shop, make friends with a locksmith...

great idea man so just buy single locks on ebay or something that are automobile locks and pick those just like the other locks i only have padlocks right now and my own door lock

my days are consumed with work for the most part but during my downtime i would like to pick on days that is not nice outside

i am having a hard time with a masterlock padlock i just bought cant seem to pick the thing i dont have my hand picking tools yet but the pick gun is not working and the lock bumping is not working either i think i bumped the cylinder loose too, lol

the padlock still works with the key though

You can buy auto locks at the dismantler/wrecking yard. I've had them just give me boxes of moderately damaged pulls before.
