How do I make a bump key? I am totally lost here.

Postby TickTockMyLock » 8 May 2009 17:18

I did a search and even watched some videos on it. I have a ton of SC1 SC4 and SE1 keys and locks. I'd like to make bump keys out of them.

I just wish there was a high resolution photos of before and after of the keys. Just so I can get a rough idea on how to do it. I could use a file to do this right? Easy to make?

Just in hopes this question (bumpkeys) will not be asked shortly again, this was PM'ed to me, and my reply:

Im doing a search maybe i'm doing it wrong.

I found a few but none of them with a good tutorial where there are actual pictures. I did find some but the photos seem to have expired.

I did a search with the terms
"Bump Key Guide"
"Bump Key Tutorial"

This question is asked so many times on this forum, and there is more than ample topics discussing it. I suggest a manual search for it. You will find many topics on it.

I will not offer any more information on it to you. Your a brand new member, I don't know what your intentions are, and I don't think bumpkeys should even be discussed personally as I see this as cheating. If you want to pick a lock for hobby, pick it.

Thats my personal opinion, I've sent this to every new member who asks me about it, and many others on here agree with the part in red. So, if your a new member, wanting to ask about bumpkeys, I suggest you search. (google may help you as well)
