TL-15 jewelry safe

Postby internet tough guy » 24 May 2009 18:13

Just bought a TL-15 jewelry safe for my business, now I'd like to learn how to close off any remaining avenues of attack.

(Any particular reason the Safes forum is off limits?)

[edit- split from "introduce yourself" topic, and renamed topic- unlisted]

Yup!

Since you bought a nice safe, you wouldn't want just any ol' person having access to thousands of years of combined lockie knowledge and potentially using that to attack your new safe, right?

Once a level of trust has been established, then the Advanced Forums aren't off-limits anymore.

I am more worried about the career criminal. He has nothing better to do all day long than research clever ways to steal from people.

The career criminal will spend the time to become an expert in this field and earn your trust. Since I have a business to run, and it doesn't involve breaking into things, I cannot afford to do the same.

Do you have any tips on what I should be looking at? I found exactly one thread on the S&G safe locks. Even the gun sites had more information (some alluding to programmatic attacks on the electronic locks).

Safes are considered advanced material. There is no public (non advanced) discussion on safe material on this site.

I'm sure you understand this, as anyone can view this site, even without logging in.

I'm going to split this from here, since you are not really introducing yourself.

Awesome, now we're up to TWO safe threads with no useful information in them.

Thanks a bunch!

Actually, there is only one- as I've moved this from the topic it did not belong.

I would suggest you review the site rules, which can be found at the following link: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=715

You have a TL-15 and you are still worried. Keep in mind that you all ready have a better safe than most businesses. Things you should get to accompany this would be an alarm system for the building. And insurance to cover items if they are stolen. Other than that, bolt the safe to the floor. I know it is heavy,...just bolt it down so a "pro" doesn't take it so easily with a fork lift.

And if you really wanted to you could get an X-09 safe lock installed to replace the one that is on there.

But I am curious. If you bought a TL-15 and you are still worried about security, why didn't/wouldn't you want to step up to a TL-60 or higher? TXTL-60? But as far as telling you what physical vulnerabilities a safe has. Sorry we can't do that.

the only way this thread can go is to a flame war. How about a little fire prevention? You agree, I thought you might.
