Hello everyone in new to this hobby so i purchased a Garrison 40MM padlock and i have been playing around with it trying to manually pick it then i tried using a snap pick all with success eventually but now i found online how to make a electric pick with a oral B hummingbird so i created this device and it seems to work great on padlocks but i can see that for deadbolts and larger locks it wont do.

Ok so now to my question why is it that when i use the hummingbird electric lock pick the center of the lock slightly budges not enough to turn it and stays locked but unlocks the lock ?

....

I think what you are missing is a tension wrench, besides a set of picks. Electric picks/etc kinda take all the fun out of lockpicking..

Kinda like riding a speed bike- with training wheels..

Ya, you may want to take a read over some "new to lockpicking" guides for some further assistance on this matter.

You could try using the tensor in a light and bouncy way, don't worry about set pins falling down, its a hummingbird, not a pick so just keep the pins moving and do not put steady hard pressure on that tensor, just tap it a bit let things keep moving until it opens the lock by turning the plug.

You appear to be saying that the lock opens when you only turn the plug a little bit. I don't know this particular lock you have, but many locks have flaws that can open them, one such flaw is when the locking dogs are the next thing behind the plug, and tools can reach this and pull them back without turning the plug.
another possible flaw would be if the dogs did not come out far enough into the shackle hole, this would make the lock easy to shim as well as make it open with only a slight turn of the plug. There are other possible
explainations, you may figure it out, let us know.

By Garrison do you mean the Mul-T-Lock 7x7? If so, your pick gun might not be long enough to hit all seven pin stacks.
