This video on youtube helped me quite a bit with sizing the wires up and stuff.

The main thing I found is the amount of tension required. To get my 3 lever lock to start to bind enough against the springs I find lots and lots of tension is needed and proper sizing of the pick wires help.

After that is a case of practise really. Practise being deliberate in feeling which lever you are under and how it feels when you lift it both with and without tension on the bolt.

You might consider making an overlifter, which is basically a wire that will lift the whole lever pack up, you can then apply tension and sort of jiggle them down to the gates by pulsing the tensor, that technique can be pretty effective on 2 and 3 lever locks, but really is more luck than judgement.

Hope that helps a bit :) good luck.

try cutting away the section of the lock case so you can see what you are trying to achieve, that way you will get a better idea what is going on inside the lock.

If the lock has hard plate thenbuy some perspex from ebay and make a plastic cover (use the original cap as a template)
