Anyone used this tubular key machine before? http://www.pickntools.com/index.php?act ... ductId=344Its kind of a copy of the HPC unit I'm pretty sure, although I've heard somewhere before that it actually has some better features than the one put out by HPC. I was wondering if this device can cut accurately enough to produce a decent key. I was gonna get a Herty Gerty but if this machine works right I'd rather get the KLOM version and save some money.

If I wasn't so short on cash that I could spend recklessly, I would just take the risk and buy one to see how it works but I got too many bills to pay and no income coming in at the moment.

Can't go wrong with the Hurdy Gurty. Cuts code, right offset, left offset and different diameters I believe.

I think I just found out that this machine only does 7 pin center and nothing else. Hmm, starting to reconsider if that can be confirmed.

The real ones from HPC will cut offsets but maybe not with the Asia made one. I'm gonna ask around and try to find out what the real deal is.

Make sure parts are readily available before you buy. I have trouble getting parts for Framon, even the belt.
Shops tend to only carry HPC parts.

Have you tried contacting framon directly? Phil ( son of the inventor ) is VERY helpful. http://www.framon.com/lckindex.html

Couldnt view the picture but if your talking about the chinese version of the hpc pocket cut up it only does the standard and not the off like the hpc..under a hundred versus $300..what do you need it to do and much much do you need it... Good tool for every now and again...if you you make a lot of tubular keys i would get the hpc...i have a ...think its klom chinese version and it works fine...but for $68 it does the basics.

I've heard that the Herty Gerty was a better machine so I might save up for that one instead of HPC.

I used the HPC a few years back... what a PIA .. I learned many years ago on the Herty Gerty and found it to be a much easier and more accurate machine.. I can NEVER remember making a key for the " offset " locks ... maybe they just don't come my way.... but I don't think they are very common
