Big picks or small keyholes?

Postby Jerbz » 3 Oct 2004 4:46

Well i have just created two picks, a small half diamond and a small hook (yay). However i realized that they don't fit well into the keyholes of my tricirle 262 or my lockwood (dont know number >_<). They seem to rest on one of the grooves and have trouble poking the pins up. Even now with the small diamond being about 1/8 of an inch big still having troubles. I think its the key holes because seeing some pictures, other peoples hooks are more then 1/4 inch and still seem to work ( i think ) . Whats the problem here? Because its kinda annoying seeing that i FINALLY aquired some material ($5 for 12 blades :) ) and they arent working for me :( . Also the lock i can usually pick with bobby pins seems to be unpickable for me now. Ever since i lent it to my friend i cant pick it, i think he may of broken it. I will post a picture of my two picks later on because my brother has the camera cable and i dont know where it is. You may be able to help me, but if you cant just sit tight and wait for the pics, theyll be up in a couple of hours at the most.

PS: In the pic you can see all my locks :P All 6 of em!! lol.

hey hey :) I got the pictures! I see views on this thread but no replies yet so here they are. This is kinda a post to show how low i am in the lock picking ranks :) . hehe here goes..

Okay , this is my complete set as of now :P . Yeh it only contains two picks and 6 locks but its a start! :) . Kinda annoying since the no-brand padlock is broken and my tri-circle wont fit my picks :( .

Now this is just a closeup of the Bi-Locks, they are number 102 if u wanted to know :/ . Yes impossible for me to pick as i suck!

Image

And last of all, a close up on the lock woods, yep, cant pick them either :/ . Basically i cant pick anything till i get a new lock :) .

As for the picks, i had to shave the SHD just so it could fit into the locks properly, and even now im having trouble with it :( . That is my first attempt using a bench grinder and yeh, i hit my finger with the wheel :( Ouchies. Sorry for the pics, see im not a photographer for many reasons. I plan to make a set as i have about 340cm of saw blade left :? .

Okay...With the lockwood, how would you suggest putting the picks? The pins almost go down too the first groove so ive been resting the pick on the 2nd groove and trying to pry up. Its uncomfortable but i dunno what else to do. I think i need another SHD but i kinda like the look of my hook, even though i havent been able to get it to work.

Looking at other peoples picks, they are larger then mine and they are still effective, how come mine dont even fit properly >_< .

I need practise :/ . Next time i make more ill be sure to post more picks :) . And at 15 (if i ever make that many) Ill be sure to make a sexy case :)

Big O_O . Hmm maybe its just an illusion that other peoples are bigger :? . Anyways, i gotta remake that diamond, its so gay lol. I will make another one later on today, and maybe try my hand out using my bench grinder (only tool) to make a rake. I gotta bad feeling that it will be to big but no harm in trying :) .

hey Jerbz you have old gen bilocks :D - bit easier than new gens , you either pick them within 30 seconds of putting you pick in or you dont pick them at all

the picks aren't to big, in fact, they are the smaller than most of mine, maybe ill make a video of picking that same C4 key way thats on the lockwood for you :D
