types of picks.

I have read several sites and the MIT guide, but none of the stuff seems to go through individual pick types in detail. I'm just about getting ready to buy a set, but could someone provide some information on what types of picks a good for doing what.

For example a single ball versus the double ball. All the different types of hooks and all the different types of rakes - C W L S.

and I guess also why, the professional sets have hundreds of picks

about the rakes, why are there so many?it's almost as if they were trying to create every single combination of pin patterns possible. Do people really use many rakes on a lock?

anyway, about the standard sets. can you shed some light on why some sets have only a single ball C1510, while some sets have only a double ball C1500?

or am I just being confused by blurry photos
