Australian lockpicking

Now as far as I can tell based on what I've read, you don't need special lockpicks for Australian locks... From what I can tell though in Europe and in Japan, slightly slimmer picks help or are required (I'm not sure, don't especially care to find out which right now)

I am about to purchase my first set of picks, probably the 8 piece set from SouthOrd along with the Visual Guide To Lockpicking (3rd edition)

Could someone please confirm for me that:
1) These picks are the kind I want for use within Australia
2) The Visual Guide to lockpicking isn't an absolutely terrible choice of book....

Thank you and I apologise for both my newbie question, and the fact that I come off so cautious... (money is a little tight right now, I dont want to have to buy two manuals...)

I started picking locks with a felt-tip biro and a paper clip.
Then I made my first picks out of street sweeper bristles, and I didn't have much trouble with any locks I can find, mostly because Mitre10/Bunnings etc all sell the same locks.

So far the only lock to stump me so far is a Master140 lock.
But hey I'm still a beginner, too.

Oh and just do some google searches for manuals. There is quite a lot of information readily available if you look hard enough
