Help me to identify these crazy Yale&Towne key blanks!!

Postby thelockpickkid » 13 Oct 2009 22:26

I have no idea what these are or what they go to, anybody have any ideas? I am just curious. I have three blanks, one of them has (6 Z C) on it. Can't find it in code software either.

Look at the crazy bend on the blades of these!! So far I can't find any reference to these even existing.

There are a few of those blanks at my work. On an old key board in the back.

When I asked about them I remember being told that they went to old Chrysler vehicles. The keyway is offset from the dust cover. Which explains the weird bend in the blank. I guess it was a simple way of preventing someone from looking into the lock. But that probably made it harder to use the keys. Which would likely explain why they weren't used for a long period of time.

I've never seen a lock that used them though. I am curious to see one, if anyone happens to have one. Please take pictures. And if they aren't Chrysler locks/keys, please correct me. :)

Awesome!! Thanks alot! These are very cool! It says that mine are from the 1930's there are Omega style keys, and mine actually say Omega on them! So that's it, I will hang on to them for a few years and maybe they might be worth more, this sit that you linked sells them for $12.95 a piece. I have three, any offers!!
