American Locks/Padlocks?

Postby Cman22 » 5 Oct 2004 19:56

I heard from a locksmith that if you can pick an american padlock you can pick anything. Where can you purchase the locks (they aren't at lowes or homedepot) and home much are the?

Thanks,
Cman

~Hands noob a thinking hat (Oddly enough in the shape of a right circular cone)~

You heard from a locksmith. Now where do you think you would be able to purchase an American brand padlock.

Enough with the flame. The home despot by my house has almost nothing decent in locks. You need to find a hardware store. A good one. Possibly even a SpawlMart, but do your best to avoid that.

What model is the hardest or best to pick, to help improve your skills?

Here's a site that sure sells a lot of lock related stuff.

I don't know anything about them but they have a nice search capability and I found a bunch of American locks on there.

They are all pretty much the same. the interchangable core ones dont give me piles of trouble, but it's best working your way up through the lock brands to improve your skill skills before you tackle theese ones.

I'm confused, are American locks really good or really bad?

American locks are excellent quality, as are higher end Master Locks.

The American Lock Company is actually a division of the Master Lock company as of almost a year ago for those who did not know.
