Anyone else have problems with DealExtreme pick orders?

Postby marquee » 19 Oct 2009 14:52

Ordered the 31-piece KLOM set [1] on 10th of September. Status has changed to "Backordered" several times and now it gives an estimate for 6th of November (+19 days).
Is this just bad luck or has anyone else had problems with DX? (I've contacted customer service a couple of times, they are just trying to get me to order something else)

They seem to have quite affordable tools for a beginner, but I don't know if this is worth my time..
My friend's order for a different product did come through, though.

Cheers.

I've ordered from them once before. Took a few weeks but no serious problems.

I don't think you can. It isn't exactly amazon.com

Go to: http://dealextreme.com/accounts/ and you can login or just punch in your order# from the confirmation email and the email addy you used to order and it'll show you a status.

On the handful of orders that I've done with them, I find their "this item ships in 3 to 5 days" estimate should actually read "2 to 4 weeks" (they're very slow in shipping)... but otherwise I haven't had any problems with stuff eventually showing up.

They do really half-hazard updating and "customer service" But everything has always been delivered to me in exactly 2 weeks.

I just placed an order with them for something and its been a week. But if I check the progress they're still waiting for the supplier when their website says it should only take 1 to 3 days to get the item from their supplier.

I guess the lack of communication is the small price to pay in exchange for dirt cheap prices.

Heh,
I received the following response from customer service when I told I can wait for the November (sic):

"Apologize that we can't offer the exact time to you due to the time of we got the goods from the supplier instability .Please advise. "

So, anyone ordering KLOM picks from DX may want to consider twice before ordering. I'll let you know if my order arrives eventually.

Cheers.

Thanks for the tip! I'll remember to do that.

I also decided that I'll order a frequency counter, if they cannot supply the original order.

Cheers,

It might not be the slow boat from China that's holding you up, if they've already shipped it. This was my delay on a Chinese HAM radio, sitting in port for a week: http://legion303.livejournal.com/20564.html
