Hi guys, Just wondering if any you have used published unlock manuals such as Car Opening Authority or High Tech Tools Opening Manuals. I have an older manual, and not sure right off the top of my head who it was made by. Just been shopping for a new one and wondering if you guys have used, seen, or heard anything about these manuals?

Yea I had forgot to mention that one, Ive heard of it but never have seen one. Ive researched that book online and found that it is pretty expensive. I have a link to one that is relatively cheap and I was just kinda wondering if it was to good to be true. http://www.awdirect.com/2008-door-tool- ... education/

I Have Never Heard Of This Manual And From The Look Of It I Would Say That It Doesn't Have A Lot To Do With The Actual Entry Of Vehicles. Just The Tools. My Suggestion Is Not To Buy.

I have bought some stuff from AW direct, and recieve there magazine in the mail every month, if you have questions about there stuff call them, I have talked to them before and they are very very nice and easy to work with. As far as there products, I have found them to be great quality. Just FYI ya know. It's hard to buy some things when you have so many choices and prices, I feel your pain.

Im afraid you may be right. I will call them and just kinda feel them out to see what its all about. I would like to think they will be honest and tell you what it has and what it does not have, but then again you might be talking to the guy that makes commission off of what he sells and he will say its exactly what ya need.

I think it's all up to personal preference but I started off with the Pro-lok's expensive Best Car Opening book. The people who put this manual together made a lot of effort and a lot of work into that manual, lots of color pictures/photographs and I'd say a great book for beginners.
But after six months or so of trying to use their tools and manual I got so frustrated that I switched over to High Tech Tools manual and tools. The Pro-Lok tools to me was a bit too complicated to use for me and even though the High Tech manual mostly uses simple black and white drawings and doesn't tell you exactly how many inches you need to put the tool into the door and stuff like that, High Tech is much much easier to use.
Plus I've heard Pro-Lok will not be producing anymore updates for their manuals after 2007 onward. Supposedly their excuse is "most new cars can be opened with a long reach tool so there's no point in making any new updates" or something like that.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Well I think you just cleared it all up for me. The manual I have now is simple black and white diagrams with brief instructions on how to open the subject car. It seems like pro-lok has a tool for every car and for each year for that car. I have about 7 unlocking tools that I use, and if it cant be opened with those, I use a reach tool. I think alot of those pro-lok tools are unnecessary. Anyhow thanks for that information, that will go a long way.

Also when you normally buy a Slim Jim it comes with instructions on how to open up all the older car models. Very handy and surprisingly detailed.
