i would ask the experts...
I work for a property preservation, foreclosure, real estate broker. What we do is manage the foreclosed / vacant properties for the various banks.. Long story short, from time to time if the property is assigned to us, we go out and determine occupancy. If the property is occupied, we leave a letter from the bank offering cash for keys. If it is vacant we have to re-key and secure it and install a lockbox.
So this is my question for you experts... When the property is vacant and theresn't $300. worth of personal property left inside, we normally drill the locks and go in and then rekey. I tried to drill a schlage deadbolt and knob and I could not get either to budge, when I do kwikset, defiant etc if I drill out on each side of the key hole centered up and down I can drill out the screws and the lock falls apart, then Im all set. But the schlage would not drill out at all.. any general guilelines on how to do this. I don't really want to learn the are of lock picking I am so busy...
IF there are any locksmiths in south east Florida, Naples,Orlando, Fort Meyers, Tampa... Let me know I can get you alot of work we get 3-5 properties a day spread out in Florida.... most are vacant.
Please point me in the right direction how I can learn how to drill all these locks.. hopefully I wont find a medco to drill!!
Thank you all for reading..
