I know what most are used on but unsure of the double edged double picks some look like the goso easy inner rake pick for vag ford & benz have had a go at my old passat but no joy has anyone used them

Both Klom and Goso picks are the bottom of the pile when it comes to quality. I know the pick profiles you're talking about, and I haven't used them to rake a vehicle lock, but from using them to pick regular locks, it was a terrible experience. Being that you are in the recovery business, I'm sure you see the Klom, Goso, and Dyno pick sets in your supply catalogs, but stay clear of those brands if possible.

I'll let other lockies and recovery guys give you advice on which sets are better for picking/decoding car doors and ignitions. Also, why not just use an inflatable wedge and a long reach tool?

I'd asked around when I first got a set of Navigators and there didn;t seem to be clear guidance on specific application and method. Not even a scrap of paper around like you get with the detainer picks.

Best thing I've heard yet is what Squelchtone just said. Rakes for non-US brand autos. Fun to experiment with but if your income depends on how many tickets you can work, the long reach tool and wedging is the way to go.

If you're a repo guy you have my sincere sympathies. Awful hard way to make a living. I only lasted a couple of weeks at it. Addresses turned out to be vacant lots or restaraunts, the people were never there, confrontations, whew!

Have you taken a look at the A1 tools ? They make the much advertised 10-cut GM rocker series among others.

I'm not an auto-lokie, so I don't have much use for these, but the other A1 product I have aren't bad.

Klom picks are good for me personally, i have a set and concider them to be pretty usefull, although most vehicles the klom and goso are good for, the air bag and long reach are just as good, for more younger models more specialists picks will be required such as lishi laser picks, Nobody with a new car wants to see half there door hanging out with a air wedge and a hairy sweaty lockpicker half hanging inside
same go's for the inner groove tools, raking around in the lock naffing the waffers up, spp is more precise and less chance of making fault with the lock
