Ahhhhhh-
technically all keyways have wards but that's probably not what you mean.

If the place where you insert the key is an easily turned 'cover' you have a warded lock on your hands. One way to be sure is to look in the keyway and if you don;t see pins or wafers it's probably just warded. A cheap dollar store laser pen is wonderful for this.

If you have the key and the side bitting is pressed, not milled, it's probably warded.

You could also do a google search for 'hampton padlocks' and see what you get.

Warded locks are easy, and you can make your own picks out of music wire from the hobby shop. Search the forums to see how.

So I got tumbler number 4 to set and the plug turned like 1/8. Once I set this one, tumbler number one is like jammed. Nomatter how hard I push it won't budge I've even bent my pick. I've tried easily letting tension off and it won't budge until all tension is let off and the lock is reset. Why is this? Do I got compres both at the same time? This lock is a doozy

Edit: okay so I for sure made a BIG noob mistake and miss counted my tumblers lol. I definatly got five in this padlock. I can onlt get number five to set and then number one gets jambed....and no I haven't used a screwdriver.....do you think that's what it'll take to knock #1 loose?

Have you tried setting pin 1 first ?. Im Just a noobie but i have found that some locks just need to have the pins set in a different pattern in order to open it.
