Sucked in by the marketing hype? I think the key line to look at is:

Don't know how to pick a lock? This is a great little tool to have around the house or office!

This means that if you don't know how to pick a lock - the tool acts as a paperweight which is perfect for your house or office!

first you need to read the MIT guide to lockpicking, then lurk on this site for a few days/weeks - buy yourself a practice master 3 padlock or kwikset deadbolt and practice until you can use it.

welcome to the site!
I hope you have fun learning!

I just noticed something else about it:

opens everything from padlocks to file cabinets, from desk drawers to toolboxes, from luggage to gas caps. Kwick Pick even opens some car doors and front door locks.

File cabinets, desk drawers, toolboxes and luggage locks are commonly wafer locks which are very easy to pick. note that it says _some_ car doors and front door locks. as above - try a kwikset for a practice front door lock and don't mess with car locks until you know what you're doing and you have a spare lock that you can afford to have break on you.

also: most people on this site would argue that it's not the pick that opens the lock, it's the picker.

good luck!
