Buy Lock pick set in San Francisco?

Postby akcoolrider » 16 May 2010 8:26

Hi guys

I am planning to buy the Southord MPXS-14 lock pick set next month. Is it available anywhere in San Francisco. Know any good dealer there?

If you get it online, it will ship to SF if that is what you are asking. I'm pretty sure most people don't sell pick sets in stores though, so you are probably not going to find many places selling picks in that area.

The only store I have seen lock pics sold at is "The Army Surplus" But that might be just the one in my area.

If you don't mind the markup, you could try the Spy store in Zeum at 4th and Mission. Better prices online, even with shipping.
It's a good day when I learn something new.

As I recall the Army Surplus was $25 for a small set. Again its not a normal item so if yours carries picks then they will be different.

My Army Surplus carried other advanced lockout tools, hand cuff keys and other anti social items. :P

I THINK their set included:

Wrench
Hook
Diamond
Rake
Ball

I'd recommend buying online. The markup in the stores is ridiculous. Plus, online you're options increase drastically.

Gun shows are another place where you can usually find lock pick sets, but the Majestic brand set I saw at the last gun show I went to this Spring were $40 for a set that should have cost $19.99 to $25.00 max. People are willing to pay more at shows and conferences because it's more of an impulse buy and something you can't go to the local hardware store and pick up off the shelf.

Thank you guys. I was visiting Florida, so picked up at southord itself. Love it!
