Lockpickshop Delivery (USPS)

Postby okmijn22 » 30 May 2010 9:13

On April 9th, almost 2 months from today, I ordered multiple pick tools from lockpickshop.com, an affiliate of this site shipped via USPS INTNL FIRST-CLASS MAIL. However, as of today, I have not received the package.
When I track it on the USPS website, I have this
http://yfrog.com/f/jn58163196j/
From your experience, when do you expect the package to come, and if it doesn't come, should I contact USPS or lockpickshop.com

As you may already know, shipping international will usually take longer than in the United States. I live near LockPickShop and they are always good about shipping and packages always arrive in a week or less, but do live close by. I'm not sure why you have waited 2 months without emailing them. There may be an issue in your countries customs, maybe someone stole the package, maybe it was lost.

Please contact LockPickShop with your order information, and with that USPS number, and they will look it up and see if perhaps the package was not sent out, or there was a problem with your shipping address, etc.

Good Luck,

I searched online that USPS was quite slow with their delivery which is why I have not contacted until now but it is better to have an update on the situtation.

Yes. If you read that law, it basically boils down to this: A company or individual cannot use the US mail to send lock picking/car opening tools to someone UNLESS the person receiving is a qualified professional who can lawfully have such tools. That's what this is all about, stopping bad guys from shipping to each other and stopping companies from shipping to a bad guy. Just what is a bona fide locksmith anyways? I find that term to be straight out of the 1930's.

When it comes to my state (MA), there is no license to be a locksmith. I simply make business cards, and say hi, I'm a locksmith (I also register as a business with my town, pay a $100 fee, and get a Tax ID number from the state so I can make quarterly income tax payments.) This all means that when I click, yes, I certify that I'm 18 and a professional who can legally own and use these tools, on which ever website I buy them from, there are no lies being told, I can in fact purchase the tools and they can in fact legally send them to me via USPS. There is no outright ban on mailing lock picking tools, it has exceptions. Just like carrying picks is perfectly legal in most places, UNLESS you have intent to use them to commit a crime.

Unfortunately, I doubt the government will recognize hobby lockpicking or locksport as a legit entity any time soon, so they won't be adding hobby lockpickers to that law's exception list, but at least the pick manufacturers and online shops know we exist, and know we are just a bunch of hobbyists who are passionate about locks.

my 2 cents,

My picks that I ordered from them came relatively quickly. I would definitely try to contact them.

I am curious as to why you:

1. Waited this long
2. Posted this here, rather than contact the place you purchased from
3. See # 1 and # 2

@unlisted

1. I heard on the internet that USPS had long delivery times so I thought to wait and see what happens.
2. I wanted to see if users here have had the similar issues.

Back to the situation, I have contacted them twice through email in the last 2 days but I have not received a reply.

A two day wait for an email response isn't bad, especially if the vendor is overseas. Some of the outfits are one-person shops so if the business owner gets sick or goes on vacation or whatever, it might be awhile.

Which doesn't lessen your frustration. We've all had to wait up to three months for some shipments. BTW, your tracking link only shows that the vendor made up a shipping ticket to bill from, doesn't indicate that a shipment has even entered their system. Tho if this is a static image, there you go.

Try a phone call, adjusting for any time zone difference, and see what happens. Then you might consider checking with your credit card company or PayPal or whoever to see about making a chargeback.

Best of luck.

There was just a holiday in America on Monday, so they may be busy processing orders from Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. As nostromo said, some places only have 1 or 2 employees so they do not reply very quickly.

Actually, I think that Lockpickshop may be having some issues. I placed an order on the 15th of May, and have yet to receive the product or even a shipping confirmation. And before anyone asks, it was shipped via UPS (according to the invoice) I tried calling their number listed on yellowpages.com, which directed me to the 877 number, which dumped me into a voice mail. I've also tried contacting them via e-mail, as well as the forms on their site, and have yet to receive a response (bear in mind, I tried contacting them the week after I ordered, so it's been a 2 week wait for any sort of response.) Of course, my card has already been charged.

This is really weird, because I've ordered from them several times in the past, and it's always been like 4 days from processing until I have the order in my hands. If I don't get a response by the end of next week, I'm afraid I'll have to follow through with the chargeback procedures on my card, and end up placing the order directly with Southord. Yeah, I know LPS gives a 10% discount, but I'd rather pay the 10% extra for something, rather than save 10% on nothing.

Just an update, finally got a hold of customer service. My order was on hold because the shipping address was different than the billing address. Odd, they've never had a problem with it before. Apparently, they have left numerous messages asking me to call, but I've not received any of them. Land line, not cell phone, in case you were wondering. The lady I talked to was really nice, and said she'd have to have a few words with the department that was responsible for contacting me in the first place.

Thank you for the update. I know many people on the internet are quick to complain when something goes wrong with a product or bad service from a company, but few follow up once their problem is resolved or if they get good customer server.

Thanks for bringing good news our way,

Hi.

My second lockpickshop order goes wrong, i think

I ordered from the shop @ november 25, two "22 piece euro slim line pick set" a southord dimple pick set and a 15 pieces set from euro slim too.

After 2 days, my order goes to HOLD status, I write 2 times for the customer service on the "Contact Us" form, but no answer.

Shipping and Billing adress is same, and the paypal adress is same too.

I don't know what happened :S

My first order comes with FedEx, and it comes fast, good quality, everithing is OK, everybody is happy, but now....

Can anybody help me?

Thank you:
Lockpickfan

( sorry for my bad english....)
