has anyone tried using these to make lockpicks? i know they make circular and flat kind.. they are supposedly made out of spring steel.. id like to get some input before ordering some(since i am on a supertight budget).

Interesting concept, I dont' have any tattoo needles but I may have some old bent point airbrushing needles that I might look at.

I make a nice hook pick with a loop handle, out of round or flattened bicycle spokes, think about it, bicycle spokes are more ubiquitous than wiper inserts and street bristles.

first dress the cut end of the spoke so that rough edges are smoothed on the cut end.
then grip the very end in a plier and bend a finger loop onto the end of the wire.
put the second finger (bird) into the loop and bend the long end of the wire over the index finger so that with index finger and thumb gripping the wire in front of the second finger loop, the shaft points straight out from this grip.

bend the end of the wire at the length of the shaft. this is to make the hook end, after bending this hook, cut the length at the tip of the hook.

file the sides of the pick flat, and thin enough to enter keyways, then sand it smooth.

This is one of the simplest ways to make a pick, and it makes a very useful hook.

this method is by far the simple est pick making material available, and there is so little to waste away by fileing.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!

sorry for the double post but i cannot edit them..
tonight i picked up 500-1000 round tattoo needle posts(i guess the tattoo needles themselves are actually soldered onto them) i finished removing the tips and i will be sanding // polishing the excess solder tommorrow.. if anyone is interested in trying some of these out feel free to PM me.. ill post some pics after i am done with the finished product but they look like these.. ill also make some with some flat heads.. these are all spring-steel..
