Coke can problem

Hey :D ,

im wondering.. I have a lock with a small key hole (only when i bought it there was no key) and 3 numbers, like this:

Oops srry, its exactly like my lock. So.. when i make the M shape out of a redbull can and do everything it works but when i come to the point to pull it in and turn it 90 degrees clock wise.. nothing happens.

I'm assuming from your description that you're trying to shim the lock? If so, that won't work. There are a few ways to decode those locks... but, unlike some of the cheaper combination locks (Master, etc.), you can't just slip something in along the shackle in order to open those "Sesame"-style locks. (The mechanism is different.)

That's a TSA luggage lock. The reason you can't shim it is because it doesn't have a latch to shim, they don't work like regular padlocks... when the key is turned, instead of retracting a latch, it pulls the little silver bit around the shackle into the body of the lock instead.

Also, they don't come with keys... the TSA has keys for them which allow airport security to open your luggage without having to call you into the security office. You use the combination, they use the key. Why you're trying to shim one of these locks is beyond me, a 5 year old could pick one... why do you need to open this without the combination exactly? Surely not for the challenge...

we do have a thread dedicated to shim making guides...
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10991

but what i'm thinking is that the lock you've tried said method on isn't the type of lock on which that method works. the masterlock combination locks that this "shim method" works on simply have a bolt that needs to be moved out of the way of the shackle. it is much easier to bypass the masterlock combination locks in comparison to the ones you've just shown. the particular combination lock you've shown pictures of actually has three sets of wheels that need to be put into place before the shackle can slide out. it is possible to figure out those combination through different methods however.

I know it i post to mutch topics,
this is probably the last question :P

Lock: TSI (007), 3 weels.
When i push the U(the thing that you open, dont know the english word for it) and i start to turn the third weel clockwise, its very very hard to turn the weel. When i come on 3, Click! So there is my first number.

Only the problem is, with the other weels.. it just turns like very easy not like the number 3 weel which i already found.. Do i need to turn it not clockwise( already tried but idk) or hold the U thing different.

Plz help me out and i stop posting this mutch topics
