Did a search here for the Master UP, and took a while to find how this system worked, actually pretty cool, I couldn't figure how you could Key a Lock without dissembly? Was this like the Kwikset Smart key? Then I thought the tool may be used through the Shackle Hole?, hope this is helpfull, page 16 and page 17: http://www.masterlock.com/pdfs/7000-003 ... _13_17.pdf

To add 1 last thing, it is interesting that this has 5 pins,(The lock and key only uses four) and when tool shears pins, the 5th pin becomes the cylinder retainer. Good Design.

The lock comes out of the box not keyed to any key, and once it is keyed it cannot be changed.
The plug appears to be protruding one space, and after the desired key is inserted a special tool is used to shear all of the pins to the correct height. Once the pins are sheared it cannot be changed, as the lock is not field serviceable.

I'm 53 now, been tinkering with locks since about 10 years old. Never seen or heard about them. They are slick, in allowing addition locks to be added to a large system and using the same key, and without dissemble.

I noticed your location and I wonder if there are any locksmith shops in your area who thought it would be fun to call their shop "Florida Keys & Safe" or something witty. I know what I'm doing when I retire, Squelchtone

Actually I think we are down to 1 Locksmith Shop, I thought about getting my Locksmith Liscense, and calling the Company "Keys Keys", I am currently a Fire/Burglar, Electrical Contractor Integrator, Troubleshooter, Also a Pilot, One more liscense couldn't hurt, I wouldn't agressively seek business, just the Overflow, and emergency lockouts, this is a small town and New businesses are somtimes considered a threat. "Florida Keys and Safe" is also a good one. Take Care
