Your pics are very low resolution and are not very helpful. Stop by a real brick and mortar local locksmith shop instead of going to stores like Sears and Home Depot. And don't call any of those AAAAA Lockout type ads in the yellow pages, they're all guys working out of their trunk doing mobile lock outs.
Either that or take some better pics, post them on a free photobucket account and paste the links to the URL in here and we can take a better look.

LOL... Or you could just ask your landlord or employer for an additional copy of the key in question... If you give them a good enough reason you might receive one if you ask nicely... ~~ Evan

Hi tookies, if you try to hide the "do not duplicate" embossed on the bow, blur the edges of the patch, otherwise we all see you touched up the picture. Why don't mask the bittings instead? Looks strange to me

LOL... I thought the first pics looked funny aswell but I put it down to being a crappy pic. But yeah, it's definately been covered up (and badly at that). Tookies: What was the point of hiding the DND stamp exactly? It's not like we're gonna withhold information on a blank, a locksmith won't provide you with a resticted blank anyway so knowing which one it is won't help you. What's the big deal with getting a copy of it made anyway, can't you just contact the lock manufacturer and have them send you one?

yes, it's a dnd key for a townhouse swimming pool gate. I lost my assigned key. my HOA is trying to charge me $200 to make an official duplicate, so i've been borrowing this one from a neighbor. in addition to the dnd stamp, there's a "serial number" or something that specifically identifies the neighbor. neighbor said it was ok to get it copied if possible, but did not want his/her information exposed. thanks for everyone's efforts & i understand your possible concerns. i'll continue with the search else where.

We're not here to help people circumvent the systems in their life. You lost the key, you man up and pay for it, you knew the fee when you were handed the key, so how you'd loose a $200 key is beyond me. For 10 years I carried a college campus Grand Master Key which if lost would mean rekeying the entire campus, and I made sure not to ever loose it or let anyone borrow it.
pay up and get it done with. life and learn right?
locking this topic now, nothing to see here, move along.
