Glovebox locked

First off, hi everyone, I'm new here! I should begin by saying I have zero lock picking experience, all I know is what I've read in the various help threads in this forum, to help me better understand your replies.

Now, the matter at hand. My idiot friend left my glove box key in the glove box and closed it. I don't want to have to get the dealer to open it, because the last time I needed to hire a locksmith they charged me a considerable amount of money. I was lucky enough to find a picture on the internet of the exact same key I have:

(the key to the car is also the glovebox key holder)

As you can see there are no cuts along the edge of the key, just one indent along the side. If anyone can walk me through how to pick one of these locks, I'd really appreciate it.

In a way, I'm glad this happened, because coming to a lockpick forum to learn how to pick some basic locks has always been on my to-do list, I guess now it's just gonna happen a little earlier than planned

most glove boxes are easier to bypass then to pick the lock.. see if you can look under the dash on the side the box is on to see if you can bypass the lock (some gloves boxes are hinged so the can be removed, or the lock is a simple latch which can be pressed down (old credit card, or hanger trick)

I did find two allen wrench slots that look like they might unhook the glove, but none of my wrenches fit. I'll buy some tomorrow, thanks for the tip!

But in the mean time, could you still tell me how I might attempt to pick it in case that doesn't work?
