Hi,
I'm not in to lock picking (even though I find it quite interesting), I am looking for some advice on door security. I figured this may be the best place to come.
I'm trying to improve security at my house. Last week, the guy 2 doors down had his euro cylinder lock snapped, they stole a load of things, filled up his Audi TT, as he went out to stop them, they ran him over. They are endless lock snapping burglaries in my area.
I'm already aware of cylinder lock weaknesses. When I bought my house 2 years ago I immediately searched for the most secure lock and fitted the CISA Astral S cylinders.
I have a wooden composite door with a 3 point locking system, 4 heavy hinges and a sturdy plastic door frame. What can I do to improve security? Do I need to?
If the Astral S is snap resistant then why have they brought out a new lock, the Cisa Astral S24 which the end snaps off? the ABS avocet does the same.
I've thought about fitting the Affinity HOPPE or Tokoyo security handles. These look great, but do I need it if the Astral S locks are snap resistant?
Do I need to add more security? should I upgrade my cylinders or add the handles? I think i'm also going to put some sash jammers on my downstairs windows.
I hope you can help. Thanks
