the door, it looks like we need to get a replacement handle assembly.
Does anyone have any pointers to cheap but functional solutions in this
area? Used hardware that's no longer deployed would be ideal.
Also anything we should be thinking about beyond failopen / failsafe
would be good. We bought a cheap strike plate from Amazon and
discovered it was pickable using a zip-tie... Not ideal.

@Legion303:
The "source" needs to describe the door a little bit better than saying "it looks like we need to get a replacement handle assembly"... Is the lock presently in use: tubular, mortise, rim ?
Are they planning on/hoping for a stand alone device or are they interested in something hardwired ? Or is it one of those situations where the ultimate decision will be made based on whatever the fates lay upon them for free...
Cheap strike plates are cheap and doesn't sound like it was the right one for the application -- if the door is equipped with a latch protector plate it frustrates and complicates latch manipulation attempts...
