What does OVER SETTING the pins mean?

Postby Conquer » 20 Oct 2012 1:20

I realize I can more easily search Google or whatnot for the answer to what Over Setting the pins mean, but for the sake of conversation and or debate I decided to post my question here. More times than not a single question leads to sometimes pages of discussion.

So, can someone explain what 'over setting' the pins mean?

Thank you

Over setting a pin is when you push the top of the key pin passed the sheer line.
“Why do they lock gas station bathrooms? Are they afraid someone will clean them?”

There is an entire section on oversetting in my book, which you can read for free here.

Oversetting is in part 2, section C. Page 15.

I could just copy and paste the text but effort. Plus there are diagrams. The password to open the file is evva3ks :)

Solomon - Thank you so much for this book which you graciously provided at no cost. It shows you genuinely had a good time writing it and knowing that it would introduce so many beginners into the addicting world of Locks Sport. Your material is proof of your dedication to this hobby.

It was extremely easy to read and made perfect sense of lock picking.

Thank you!
