Lockpicking in Italy?

Postby Starreaper088 » 24 Jun 2013 4:23

When I finish my sophomore year my mom and I are going backpacking across Italy. What are the laws and stuff for taking my pickgun with us and just having it in Italy.

In Italy, if you are caught with a pick gun, you have to have a duel with the local magistrate; he uses his gun, you use yours.

Just kidding, read this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2850

There is a section on Italy. Hope it helps.

I suggest you leave the pickgun (and picks) home. The best that can happen, if you get caught, is they take the picks and pickgun: you may get in trouble just for having them with you.

Have a nice time here with your mom.

Cheers :)

Why on earth would you bring a pick gun on a backpacking trip to Italy? If you are a hobby picker, a pick gun is not exacting picking, its more like cheating. If you enjoy actual picking as a hobby, and not just as a way to get into places, bring a wrench and hook pick and hide both in a large empty Sharpie marker body. That way you can still practice your hobby but not carry around tools that draw attention to you.

That is a cool idea, Squelchtone! I love those sort of covert things...

Just don't let them x-ray your stuff. If they were detected it might raise a few eyebrows, or worse.

I can't take the credit, someone else here posted that long ago: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15974
