Hello guys I am new at this lock picking stuff, so I just ordered the look eletric pic gun it comes with so many types of needle so I been looking on the board to see if I can find a thread with pics of needles and what they are use for, but I had no luck on this one. So if any we'll experiences pop can help me out with pics and needles and tell me what they are use for would really appreciate it.
My first recommendation is to put the EPG on the floor and back away carefully. Even knowing what you are doing, they can damage locks. They most likely WILL damage locks with repeated use. It also has almost no bearing on real picking.

Just when you finally think you have learned it all, that is when you learn that you don't know anything yet.
Hi and welcome to the site, I am sure you will find if you do a little research and “read between the lines” ELECTRONIC PICKGUNS don't really pick locks.. they are sold as personal pleasure devices .. hence the “adjustable vibrating head”. Anyone who tells you differently is just hiding behind the “ locksmith” story and is too embarrassed/ sexually repressed, to admit the real reason for their purchase.
Please enjoy your new “ELECTRONIC PICKGUN”, always use a condom, ( I prefer the ribbed ones). NO, it won't be necessary for you to tell us how much you enjoy it or new ways you have found to “enhance” your personal pleasure. But thank you for letting all of us know you have a new “toy”. So if you need advise on how to use your new “personal pleasure device” it would be best to do a Google search, as this is a HOBBIEST LOCKPICKING site.

Pm me for a free interior design consultation. Bay Area preferred but willing to travel.
LOL. Bruce I´ve never even seen an electric pick gun. I`m a manual kind of guy. Get a hook pick, a tension wrench, and some cheap locks. Maybe a rake or two so you´ll pop some locks even before you really know how to SPP (´Single Pin Pick). Read a lot of tutorials such as "Solomons lockpicking detail overkill" and practice. You´ll get much more outta this hobby. Happy picking!
you guys are no help, and and i bought it to play with. every one at one time started with out knowing jack shit, these boards are here to help ppl learn not to tell them to put the gun down. all i want to know is if there is a link that shows pics and what the needles is use for on a specific lock, would be much appreciated thanks.
Guys, we're all friend here. Give the newbie a break. DEE's question is a legitimate one. Perhaps a constructive answer would have been more appropriate?
DEE151, what needle you use, really is a matter of preference and it also depends on how you use it. Pretty much any needle will work with any lock...to a degree...Like you said, you just want to play with it, then play with it until you find what works for you. Experience will tell.
As you might have noticed, many hobbyist do not like electro-picks because many believe that it is not really picking, like playing billiard without aiming, sure some balls will get pocketed, but you don't want to just be lucky, you want to be successful...I'm a professional locksmith and I do not use pick guns, electric or otherwise because as other said, they can damage locks and I'd rather use finesse and be successful, than use "force" and be lucky. That and they do look phallic and they do sound like vibrators.
Some members like to poke a little fun at times, so don't take it personally. I do not condone the smart-ass sarcastic comments you received, but I would also suggest not to use a pick gun. Ultimately, the choice is yours, these pick gun are made for a reason, people buy them and use them. They do work, but, as a hobby, many consider them a "cheat".
I hope you stick around awhile and enjoy the forum and the hobby. The point is to have fun...Whatever turns your crank...
I was only partly kidding. The EPGs do ruin locks, and can do so very quickly, especially for a beginner who does not understand tension or how locks work. We were telling you that they have no bearing on picking locks, and that you would be much better served by learning to actually pick. Many locks can not be opened with an EPG.
I do not use an EPG, though there are a few professional locksmiths here who do. There are many more professional locksmiths who have tried them before, and stopped. Unfortunately, I do not know which needles to use for what. While there are professional locksmiths among us (some of whom have a staggering amount of knowledge to share), most of us are hobby pickers. And an EPG kind of defeats the purpose of picking recreationally.
We are actually trying, with humor, to give you good advice. Humor, like a spoonful of sugar, can make something you do not like, palatable. You may not want to hear 'put the EPG down', but if you want to actually learn to pick locks, it is the best advice you can get.
Sorry if you felt offended. That was not our intent. Please, look around the site. There is a wealth of knowledge about locks, picking, and yes, even some info on EPGs. We would like to help you learn to pick, as long as (and this is not an accusation) you intend to only use the knowledge for lawful recreational use. We actually are a friendly bunch, and we joke with each other even more than what you see above.
Welcome to the site, please stick around and learn. Soon, you will be helping others!

From my understanding the type of needle doesn't make a huge difference. That's my take on it, as I see no physical difference in the needles other than angles, lengths, and what profile they are for (that is American or Euro, they make the needle to have the concave side touching the pins.) The above posted video helps show some good techniques of how to use one. Keep in mind, though, in the high speed segment of the video, you can actually see brass dust flying all over the place. They also demonstrate hammering a nail with this thing! It can honestly give more than just a love-tap to a lock if you are not gentle or use it more than once on the wrong lock.
