Master Keying Corbin Russwin System 70

Postby thomas1 » 15 Aug 2013 9:24

I am attempting to layout a master system using Corbin Russwin System 70 locks. All previous MK systems I have done have used 6 pins with a 2 step progression which generates a bitting array/magic square that is 6x5. With the Corbin system I can use single step progression which I'm thinking will give me a 6x6 array. Similar to this:

324141 Top master
435252
546363
651414
162525
213636

Am I on the right track in my line of thinking? Should I include a zero in there and get to a 6x7?

Hello thomas1:

Your KBA looks good to me...
There is no #0 cut for Corbin-Russwin System 70 as that would be a half-increment...

If you compare System 70 with Pre-70 keying systems there is no Zero depth with 70 and each step is .028 which is twice the .014 Corbin Pre-70/.015 Russwin Pre-70...

Which single step-progression keying systems it is ideal to use the Rotating Constant method of developing the keying system as it reduces the number of master pins you need to use...
