Schlage keyway difficulty

I find that Southord's regular picks are too large to move vertically and have to be used at an angle in the Schlage SC1 keyway. The short hook works alright, but the half diamond doesn't have enough reach for high-low bitting...

Thinner hooks such as those from Sparrows seem more suitable.


How do you work with a standard Schlage keyway?

TOK tension with a Peterson Prybar and a SouthOrd slim short hook usually get the job done for me.
