Yale 850

Hello all I have a Yale 850 and I have been trying to pick for ages and it wouldn't budge but in the end it had a small pin on the bottom of the key way and now open I would like to get a key made for it anyone know what type they are , p.s I get my hands on a lot of pad locks where o work with no keys but this one I want to get working as it seems a good lock any ideas ?

What is a Yale 850 ? Is that a deadbolt, night latch, or padlock? and where are you from? If we offer advice geared for someone in the US but the person asking is in Australia, then that's not gonna help them much.

Please upload a pic of the lock to imgur.com and paste the link here, including a clear view of the keyway. That will help us help you.

What are you using to pick it? are you a hobbyist or just a person who needs a key for 1 lock? If you want a key made you would have to be able to remove the cylinder, does this lock allow for that?

What blank is that?
Looks like itd be a silca ya1e? But i cannot be sure from the picture

Also what type of plug does that take

I Would love to see a teardown(disassembled lock) photo

Really Just to see if it has spools

The 850 can come in different keyways. As we can not see the lock, you will need to post a clear picture of the keyway if we are to be of any assistance.

C Locked - I'm not sure what era of 850 the OP has, but here's an exploded pic I snapped when I disassembled an early 20th century one last year. Haven't personally gutted the modern UK version, so I can't speak to how they differ.
