when buying a lot of same padlocks, is it bad if they are all master keyed, is it better practice lockpicking different keyed locks?

From the way you worded your question, I'm not sure you understand what master keying is. Generally speaking, you can't buy master keyed padlocks, unless they are specially ordered from the manufacturer or a locksmith. Chances of you buying some off the shelf is about nil. I suspect you are asking about locks that are keyed alike (all use the same key).

The answer to your question is that it's better to buy practice locks that are keyed differently. While every lock is different, and keyed alike locks won't necessary bind in the same order, you won't get any experience working with different length pins.

If you were actually referring to master keyed locks, the same thing holds true. You're much better off with standard pin locks. Master keyed locks provide multiple shear lines, making them easier to pick. You still get the same experience of raising a pin to the shear line, but it my opinion, it doesn't give you the same experience with overlifting, because overlifting can still raise a pin to a shear line.

Master keyed locks all use different keys; however there is still a key that will open all of them. Think of an apartment building. Every tenent has their own key, which will not open anybody else's apartment. However the manager has a single key that opens all the apartments. A good example, but a bad practice for liability reasons in my opinion.

ive seen a a lot 5 padlocks for sale, and it stands they are all similiar keyed or master keyed.

also off topic, would you recommed buyingg bulks master lockouts and american 1100s for practice, or any more locks?

I'd pretty much guarantee they are not master keyed.

As for what to buy, look at BosnianBills videos on YouTube. He has one on this very topic, including a pretty good recommendation on the order to purchase.

If i buy a lot of locks which are similar keyed. could i just repin the keypins random, would that make the same use as buying them different keyed? when u buy big lots they are almost all similar keyed

Yes, as long as they are rekeyable locks. Not all are. And as long as you have the correct pins. Some, like Master, don't use universal pins.

But the american a1106 are repinable core? ive saw an used sale annoncement of them where it stod the u cant repin the core, the guy probaly wrote wrong in the ad?

Careful mate, you already have a thread for American Locks and asking the same question about the 1106 being repinnable or not in several threads ìs frowned upon, as it clutters the forum.

I see you are eager to learn, but it feels like you are rushing to learn everything in a week. Slow down a little, learning every lock model and how many pins they are and if they are repinnable takes time.

Also as a hobby picker, just get some locks and start picking, not every lock you buy must be repinnable, half of mine arent and I still enjoy picking them.
