Does anyone know if the Master Lock 141DLF has security pins

Postby Vargh » 4 Jan 2017 20:00

I just bought a Master Lock, Model 141DLF. It's metal with a black plastic case. I managed to get the two back pins to bind, but when I get to the third binding pin, it will not move at all.

Does anyone know if this type of Master Lock has security pins in it?

Thanks!

P.S. I did manage to turn one of my really old Master Locks (unknown model number) into a cut-away lock and it did not have security pins. :D

So is it random whether it has security pins or not?

The master lock 141DLF that I have looks like this image.

Sorry the image is so big.

I've never come across one of those aluminum locks that did.

Likewise. The 140 and 150 have spools, but never seen in those locks.

I have one of those and am certain there's no spools in it.
The bitting is higher, high, very low, highest from keyway to bottom which makes it surprisingly difficult to SPP since pin 3 always gets overset.

The bitting on mine is like doing down a stair case from back to front and it even seems to start high in the back and ends low in the front. 4321,easy. If I teach some SPP this is the lock I always start with. Definitely no spools. But doesn't mean they are all that way.

Thanks guys. Maybe it's just the difficult biting on my lock.

I've got the blue version of this guy, and it is all standard pins as well. Mine has a very low front pin as well, and high pins at the back, and I found it took very little effort to over-set. I suggest using a very small euro-style pick if you're still having trouble. I think I actually used a small diamond, with extremely light touch, the first time I opened mine.
