Hi, I am about to start with picking locks and have actually just bought a picking set. As someone who does not know anything yet, I went to youtube for answers where I have been watching lockpickinglawyer´s videos for a while. In one of these videos, he explained the difference between picking a lock and lock picking. To learn how to pick locks I want to practice on different locks instead of only one at a time. So to my question. Where can I find a variety of different keylocks at a low price? This site has a marketplace but as a member of only ten minutes and one post so far I can not access it yet. So does anyone have some tips for what to do?

Keep an eye on eBay - if you specify used locks then you should spot some bargains.

I would be glad to clean out my van, but you would have to pay the shipping-- Arizona to your location could be costly, but PM me if you are interested

I search on eBay for a couple lesser searched, locks with no keys, Broken Electronics, Broken Effects Pedals. Fewer Bidders? You can get groups of locks, some with, some without keys, good luck

Go to Walmart and pick up 1 each of the 4 and 5 pin Brinks locks then keep an eye out on eBay for locks. The new brinks are good to get a idea on how to pick as they are new and haven't been out in the weather or stiff from age. I have an old Master #3 that is difficult to unlock even with the key. Would be a really bad lock to learn how to pick on.

Yard Sales are a good source. I live close to a Door and Window shop, they set out removed doors from New Installations, I get Mostly Kwikset and Schlage locks, sometimes Smartkey locksets, you can also make a Lockstand out of a section of door

Yeah, I don't really know what stores they have there. I guess the point I was trying to make is that for your first lock to start on go get a cheaper new lock as it will not be weathered or stiff from age. Like the Master #3 I have witch should be an easy lock to pick but it isn't because it is old and even difficult to open with the key.
