Making Practice Mortise Cylinders

I am thinking about making a set of Progressive Kwikset and Schlage Mortise Cylinders. My question is when I tap the "pin" hole how deep should I go , (two-three full turns with the tap tool or tap it to the bottom of the cylinder)? One more question, should I deburr the tapped hole?

Plan is make a set of progressive mortise cylinder 1 pin, next two pins and then three pins front "loaded" on the next three cylinder back load them, start at the rear of the plug slot 6 1 pin, then 5 with two pins and finally 3 pins in slot 4.

Finally I will be using 4mm ss allen screws to "cap" the pins and springs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How did I miss this? when I do it I use a Bottoming tap and 4 complete turns, If you run the tap it all the way to the plug but it will just make the lock harder to pick .
I always deburr the holes after tapping.
